Practical education for students through internships with employers presents a significant opportunity to address labor shortages, one of the biggest challenges facing the Montenegrin economy. Therefore, it is essential for businesses to be even more actively involved in this form of education.

This was emphasized during a meeting between the President of the Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Nina Drakić, and the Director of the Center for Vocational Education, Aleksandra Lalević. The discussion particularly highlighted the need to promote lifelong learning and to license more businesses to provide such training.

“The goal is to educate personnel in line with labor market demands, which is especially important in tourism, where up to 20,000 additional workers are needed during the season,” was stated at the meeting, which was also attended by the Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce, Dragan Kujović, and a Board Member of the Center for Vocational Education, Dušan Bošković.

A key topic of discussion was the training of instructors for practical education to enhance collaboration between businesses, students, and schools and to improve the quality of training. Strengthening this sector and enhancing Montenegro’s image as a country that successfully promotes lifelong learning could also attract students from the region participating in mobility programs.

The Chamber of Commerce and the Center for Vocational Education will continue to work together on dual education through promotional activities, organizing events that support it, and encouraging employers to participate in this process while also contributing to improving relevant regulations.
