Project Objective

The P.A.S.T.4Future project – Promoting Accessible and Sustainable Tourism for Future aims to promote and strengthen the offer of accessible and sustainable tourism in the cross-border region involved in the project (Puglia and Molise regions in Italy, Malesi e Madhe in Albania, Tuzi Municipality in Montenegro) at the European and international level, through the implementation and diversification of tourism offerings/services designed for tourists with special needs.

Project Activities

  • Establishment of Destination Management Offices (Cross-border Destination Management Organization – DMO) for accessible and sustainable tourism to enable people with special needs (e.g., families with children, people with disabilities, elderly people, people with food intolerances, people with temporary impairments, etc.) to travel in a safe and comfortable manner.
  • Establishment of a cross-border network for accessible and sustainable tourism, including project partners and other public and private actors in tourism and the tourism industry of each target area.
  • Organization of workshops for members of the cross-border network for accessible and sustainable tourism and other relevant stakeholders focused on the market for accessible and sustainable tourism.
  • Design and implementation of a web platform and app to assist tourists, especially those with special needs, in identifying and locating tourism services and attractions mapped during the project.
  • Organization of an educational tour for European tour operators of accessible and sustainable tourism to test the destinations planned during the project based on mapped accessible locations, attractions, and services.
